PHP Ledger is open-source, self-hosted double-entry accounting with a cash POS for small businesses. It runs on PHP 8.2+ and MySQL 8.4 on ordinary shared or VPS hosting. Self-hosting for your own business is free, with no licence keys or licensing-server calls.
The first stable release, 1.0.0, was published on 18 September 2026. It covers invoices, bills, partial payments, credits, ageing, bank reconciliation, manually configured tax, profit and loss, balance sheet and cash reports, plus guided browser installation and publisher-signed automatic updates with matched backup and recovery. Optional Purchasing and Inventory modules reuse the same posting services.

Project-owned code is licensed AGPL-3.0-or-later and a commercial licence is available on request. Published 0.1.0 through 0.1.5 previews retain their MIT grants.
Not yet done: independent accounting review, independent security review and supervised pilots with a real month-end close remain post-release commitments. Evaluate with synthetic data first. Urdu/RTL, Softaculous and Installatron packages and published containers are planned for 1.1.
