The default client that is webpacked and distributed in the main repository
- node.js 22.9 or higher
- npm 10.8 or higher
- Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/hack-chat/hackchat-client.git - Change the directory:
cd hackchat-client - Install the dependencies:
npm install - Launch:
npm start - Open browser to: http://127.0.0.1:3000/

We welcome contributions! If you're looking to help customize or localize the client, here are a few great places to start:
- Translations: Language files can be found in the
app/translationsdirectory. You can update these files to improve existing translations or submit pull requests to add entirely new languages to the application. - Themes: Themed appearance files are located in the
app/themesdirectory. You can update existing stylesheets or submit new custom themes to change the visual appearance of the chat.
