Forward Deployed Engineer | Software Engineer | AI and Automation Engineer

I am a forward deployed engineer: I solve complex business problems from inside the business. Six years in production software and automation, based in the Philippines and working remotely on US Pacific hours. For the last two years I have been a software and automation engineer for a US managed service provider, delivering across 22 projects for 45 client organisations. There I built the automation platform on Azure, the applied LLM systems that run on it, and the AI-assisted development practice the engineering team now builds with.

That one seat covers five kinds of work: client engagements scoped, built and handed over end to end; internal platform and cloud engineering on Azure; identity and access across Microsoft 365 and Entra; data pipelines and reporting; and applied AI on top of all of it. About as much of what I touch is inherited as green-field, so a lot of the job is taking over a system I did not build, learning it, and leaving it documented and deployable. I also founded and ran a registered Philippine software studio, where I held the stack, hiring, rate and delivery decisions. Before software I spent more than three years in enterprise networks and telecom cloud core, which is where the automation habit started. That is background now rather than the pitch, though change control against a live production estate is a skill that never stopped paying. Most of what I ship lives in private client and company repositories, so this account is not a representative sample of my current work, and I am happy to walk through it in a call.

• Takeovers of undocumented production systems: read the estate, document it, keep shipping into it

Dropped into someone else's system

• Diagnosed why a bank kept rejecting a client's patient-refund files and got 284 stranded refunds processed and paid, five days after first seeing the system
• Took over a client's decade-old production CRM from its departing in-house engineer and became its only developer across three engagements, adding source control, automated deployment and its first system documentation
• Reconstructed three undocumented inherited client systems into read-only knowledge vaults in eight days, 359 notes with refresh pipelines and redaction gates
• Forked an open-source ConnectWise MCP server and added per-member impersonation, Key Vault key storage and per-call auditing, live for the whole company in three days

Agents and applied AI

• Shipped an internal Teams AI assistant as a hierarchical tool-calling agent over twelve registered tool workflows, 126 sessions across 269 days
• Built and operate AI ticket intelligence over a live PSA, 2.1 million ticket events handled, calling the model only where a ticket materially changed
• Built a customer-sentiment alerting loop that gets negative tickets escalated early, answered 108 times by the service desk across 761 notification runs
• Introduced AI-assisted development to the engineering team unprompted and grew the practice from one seat to 22 active members

Platform and scale

• Proposed, built and operate the Azure automation platform every internal AI and integration system runs on, five production systems on a single 2 vCPU virtual machine
• Grew two tenant reports into a 26-job Container Apps monitoring platform across 55 customer tenants, declared in Bicep
• Moved 83,722 Jira issues in one production cutover into a 2,000-seat enterprise tenant
• Migrated 133,331 Jira issues in 24 mapped batches after the vendor's own supported tool proved unusable
• Migrated 25,790 Confluence objects across 132 spaces with zero loss in the vendor's own report, followed by three weeks of remediation

Delivery record

• Shipped six internal React applications and one client platform on a single Azure Static Web Apps and Functions template in six months
• Delivered a client's Raspberry Pi fleet management system solo in 149.5 hours across 21 tickets, a Power Apps and Dataverse console over live device telemetry, with the hardware bring-up and the operator training alongside it
• Logged about 1,310 hours across 45 client organisations and 22 projects since 2024
