From 6790749285c56bfa68ef10b6eadf28c9c9c92da5 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: silverhand-ai Date: Sat, 26 Sep 2026 17:02:03 -0400 Subject: [PATCH] Use each profile's GitHub avatar as its Open Graph image Every user profile page currently shares the same generic 200x200 site logo (site.defaultImage) as its og:image/twitter:image, even though the site declares twitter:card: summary_large_image, which needs a substantially larger image to render correctly. Profile pages already have the person's github username in scope, so this uses their real GitHub avatar (460x460, always reachable) instead, falling back to the site default only when no github username is set. Homepage and other non-profile pages are unaffected. Verified with a full `npm run build`: homepage still uses site.defaultImage, every profile page now renders its own avatar URL in og:image/twitter:image. --- src/_includes/layouts/base.njk | 2 +- 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/src/_includes/layouts/base.njk b/src/_includes/layouts/base.njk index 37d9e95f..2429396b 100644 --- a/src/_includes/layouts/base.njk +++ b/src/_includes/layouts/base.njk @@ -17,7 +17,7 @@ description: (seoBioDescription or ("Explore " + (name or '') + "'s developer profile, skills, and social links on NextCommunity.")), keywords: "developer profile, " + (name or '') + ", " + (role or '') + ", github profile, software developer portfolio", type: "profile", - image: site.defaultImage, + image: (github and ("https://github.com/" + github + ".png?size=460")) or site.defaultImage, person: { name: name, role: role,
